YUS1SH3PE 121cm Professional Upright Piano with SH3 Silent System in Polished Ebony>Yamaha Fashion

The acoustic piano is a magnificent instrument that lets you express yourself. If you’re joyful, it sounds joyful; if you’re sorrowful, it sounds sorrowful, too. It obediently responds to and reflects your inner emotions. And as you experience the enjoyment and occasional difficulties of playing the piano, you can grow together over the years, as it truly becomes your own instrument. Yamaha upright pianos possess incredibly rich sound and reliable quality, responding faithfully to your innermost thoughts and deepest passions.

In our minds, the piano is not a “finished” instrument; we relentlessly endeavor to improve the piano for those who enjoy playing it. As we pursue ‘ideals’ for the piano—ideal sound, ideal resonance, even ideal styles—we continue to positively evolve the piano in a variety of ways, including employing innovative manufacturing methods and the meticulous selection of new materials. The Yamaha piano brand is renowned and loved all over the world, and we strive to keep that reputation.

There are roughly 8,000 parts used in the construction of piano, many of which are made from natural materials having distinct differences and their own individual characteristics. In order to maximize the characteristics of each material and create the ideal sound, Yamaha conducts intensive research on each and every one of them. The artistry that goes into each individual piano is an exquisitely delicate balance between the traditional craftsmanship that maximizes those characteristics and the state-of-the-art production techniques that ensure consistent accuracy.

A piano that fits your lifestyle and evolves with you as you progress. Maintaining the essence of the acoustic piano, with newly enhanced muting features and a wonderfully rich sound. With a SILENT Piano™, you can play whenever you want to.

This is a remarkable acoustic piano that can be played silently while letting you adjust the volume, retaining the rich and complex sound that’s unique to an acoustic instrument. Switch to Quiet mode and the hammers are stopped just before hitting the strings, while keystroke movements are read by optical sensors. These trigger the internal tone generator which reproduces a digitally sampled piano sound in your headphones. The result is an exceptionally natural acoustic piano sound that you can enjoy playing at any time, without worrying about your surroundings.

SILENT piano™s are genuine acoustic pianos equipped with Yamaha’s advanced silencing technology. When the keys are played in SILENT Mode, the hammers are stopped immediately before striking the strings so that the piano itself generates no sound. Sensors installed below the keys decipher how the keys are played and relay the data to the digital tone generator, which generates sampled sounds that can be heard through a pair of headphones. By allowing players to play a true acoustic piano sound under normal circumstances, or to put on headphones and play in SILENT Mode to avoid disturbing others, SILENT Piano™ makes any time a good time to sit down at the piano.

The YUS1 offers Yamaha’s outstanding musical performance and quality, for those who demand the very best sound. Silencing system has been added to this YUS1. This is an SH3 type SILENT Piano™.
